What else I do

Rail is the restaurant one, and it is the only thing here you can buy off a shelf. The rest is work I take on a job at a time.

I am one person in Cathlamet. That is the whole company. It means you get someone who answers his own phone and remembers your setup, and it means I would rather turn work down than take something on badly. If you ask me for something I am not the right person for, I will tell you so.

Built and running

Rail — online ordering for restaurants

Your customers order and pay from their phone. The ticket prints in your kitchen on the printer you already have and lands on a screen above the pass, where your cooks accept it with a real pickup time. Their page updates itself, so the "is it ready yet" calls stop.

$150 a month, no set-up fee, no commission, no contract. It sits beside whatever till you use today.

Websites for small businesses

A site that says what you do, works properly on a phone, and that you can reach me about when something needs changing. Not a template farm and not a subscription to a page builder you will be fighting in a year.

Priced per job, after I have seen what you need.

Invoicing and getting paid

If you are still chasing paper, or retyping the same job into three places, this is usually the cheapest problem to fix and the one that pays for itself fastest. Invoices that go out on their own, get tracked, and tell you who has not paid.

Priced per job.

Stock and inventory

For shops where things walk — hardware stores, parts counters, anywhere the count on the shelf and the count in the book stopped agreeing a while ago. Knowing what you actually have, what is moving and what has been sat there since 2019.

Priced per job, and worth a conversation before either of us assumes what it should look like.

Something else

If it is a computer problem in a small business, ask. Twenty years of making awkward systems behave, and I am local enough to come and look at it rather than talk you through it down the phone.

If I am not the right person, I will say so and try to point you at somebody who is.

Why the restaurant one is different. Rail is a finished product — the same software runs for every restaurant, it is tested, and the price is the price. The rest of the work above is bespoke, so it gets quoted rather than listed. That is an honest difference and not a sales tactic: you should not expect a stock system for $150 a month, and I should not pretend otherwise.
